SpaceX, officially known as Space Exploration Technologies Corp., is an American aerospace manufacturer and space transportation company founded by Elon Musk in 2002. The company is known for developing the Falcon rocket series, the Dragon spacecraft, and the Starship vehicle, among other technologies. SpaceX's primary goals are to reduce space transportation costs, enable the colonisation of Mars, and enhance space exploration capabilities. The company has achieved significant milestones, including the first privately funded spacecraft to reach orbit, the first privately funded spacecraft to dock with the International Space Station, and the first reusable orbital rocket. SpaceX is also involved in developing the Starlink satellite constellation to provide global internet coverage.
